General note
Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and the data protection provisions of the Confederation (Data Protection Act, FADP), every person has the right to the protection of their privacy and to protection against the misuse of their personal data. The operators of this website take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data as confidential and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

In collaboration with our hosting providers, we strive to protect our databases as effectively as possible against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or tampering.

Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by email) may be subject to security risks. It is not possible to guarantee complete protection of data against access by third parties.

By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing and use of data as described below. In principle, this website can be visited without registering. In this process, data such as the pages accessed, the names of the files retrieved, and the date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes, without this data being directly linked to you personally. Personal data, in particular names, addresses and email addresses, is collected on a voluntary basis wherever possible. We will not pass on your data to third parties without your consent.

Processing of personal data
Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. A data subject is a person in respect of whom personal data is processed. ‘Processing’ means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, regardless of the means or methods used, including, in particular, the collection, disclosure, acquisition, erasure, storage, alteration, destruction and use of personal data.

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law. Furthermore, where and to the extent that the EU GDPR applies, we process personal data in accordance with the following legal bases in connection with Article 6(1) of the GDPR:

  • (a) Processing of personal data with the data subject’s consent.
  • (b) Processing of personal data for the purpose of fulfilling a contract with the data subject and for the purpose of taking appropriate pre-contractual measures.
  • (c) Processing of personal data to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject under any applicable EU law or under any applicable law of a country in which the GDPR applies in whole or in part.
  • (d) Processing of personal data to protect the vital interests of the data subject or of another natural person.
  • (f) Processing of personal data to safeguard our legitimate interests or those of third parties, unless the fundamental rights and freedoms and interests of the data subject take precedence. Legitimate interests include, in particular, our commercial interest in being able to provide our website, information security, the enforcement of our own legal claims, and compliance with Swiss law.

We process personal data for as long as is necessary for the relevant purpose or purposes. Where we are subject to statutory or other obligations requiring us to retain data for longer periods, we restrict processing accordingly.

Cookie policy
This website uses cookies. These are small text files that enable specific, user-related information to be stored on the user’s device while they are using the website. Cookies enable us to determine, in particular, the frequency of use and the number of users of the website, to analyse user behaviour, and to make our website more user-friendly. Cookies remain stored after the end of a browser session and can be accessed again when you visit the site again. If you do not wish this to happen, you should configure your web browser to refuse cookies.

A general objection to the use of cookies for online marketing purposes can be submitted for a wide range of services, particularly in the case of tracking, via the US website http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or the EU site http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ Furthermore, you can prevent cookies from being stored by disabling them in your browser settings. Please note that this may mean you are unable to use all the features of this website.

Privacy policy for newsletter data
If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on this website, we require your email address and information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you consent to receiving the newsletter. No further data is collected. We use this data solely for the purpose of sending you the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

You may withdraw your consent to the storage of your data and email address, and to their use for sending the newsletter, at any time, for example by clicking the ‘Abmelden’ (Unsubscribe) link in the newsletter.

Privacy policy for Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited. If the data controller for this website is based outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Analytics data processing is carried out by Google LLC. Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited are hereinafter referred to as ‘Google’.

The statistics we collect enable us to improve our service and make it more appealing to you as a user. This website also uses Google Analytics to analyse visitor traffic across devices, which is carried out using a user ID. If you have a Google account, you can disable cross-device analysis of your usage in the settings under ‘My Data’ and ‘Personal Data’.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with any other data held by Google. Please note that Google Analytics on this website has been enhanced with the code ‘_anonymizeIp();’ to ensure that IP addresses are collected anonymously. As a result, IP addresses are processed in truncated form, thereby ruling out any possibility of personal identification. Where the data collected about you relates to an individual, this link is immediately removed and the personal data is therefore deleted straight away.

Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the US and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and internet usage. In the exceptional cases where personal data is transferred to the US, Google has opted into the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting the settings in your browser; however, please note that, in this case, you may not be able to make full use of all the features of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address), and from processing this data, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: Google Analytics deaktivieren.

Newsletter – MailChimp
Newsletters are sent via the mailing service provider ‘MailChimp’, a newsletter distribution platform operated by the US company Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. You can view the distribution platform’s privacy policy here. The Rocket Science Group LLC, trading as MailChimp, is certified under the Privacy Shield Framework and thereby guarantees compliance with European data protection standards (Privacy Shield). The distribution platform is engaged on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR and a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28(3), first sentence, of the GDPR.

The distribution platform may use recipients’ data in pseudonymous form – i.e. without linking it to a specific user – to optimise or improve its own services, for example to improve the technical aspects of newsletter delivery and presentation, or for statistical purposes. However, the distribution platform does not use the data of our newsletter subscribers to contact them directly or to pass the data on to third parties.
